Third time’s a charm!

Our very own Johannes Lupolo-Chan, a graduate architect here at Gresley Abas has enjoyed success in three national architecture and design competitions over the past few months. He was recently announced as the national winner of the 2013 CSR Cemintel 9 Dots Award, winning a 17-day architectural study tour around the USA with esteemed architect and jury member Malcolm Carver in October.

In July, Johannes’ individual entry in the international design competition for a new Australian prime minister’s residence Lodge on the Lake, was shortlisted in the Top 20 in the world (out of 242 entries) and exhibited at the National Gallery of Design in Canberra from August – October.

In early August, it was announced that Johannes was a finalist in the prestigious 2013 Reece Bathroom Innovation Award, for his innovative design for myReece – a bathroom management system designed to integrate all Reece bathroom products through technology and as an integrated piece of bathroom furniture.

CSR Cemintel 9 Dots

The CSR Cemintel 9 Dots Award’s brief for 2013 was for a single dwelling or multi residential space designed to address urban and suburban density issues in Australia’s cities. Johannes’ winning entry proposes the 10×10 House – a typology for lane way houses in Perth’s inner suburbs. Designed for small 10×10 minimum subdivisions at the rear of properties adjoining laneways, it can be used as a granny flat for multi-generational families, rented out to young professionals or sold off as an investment property.

Congratulations Johannes!

Designs for Mandurah Eastern Foreshore Released

Phil Gresley and Ben Price have been working closely with the City of Mandurah for some time now creating a designed vision for the  Eastern Foreshore along the main strip in Mandurah.

Today, the City released a video for public comment. Although we didn’t produce the video, our designs and modelling are used extensively. Check it out below.

We are looking forward to progressing the scheme further and ultimately into reality!

If you are a local of Mandurah or otherwise interested, head down to the City’s feedback page and let them know what you think.
